Buying
Our Merchandising teams at each brand are responsible for the selection and procurement of the merchandise sold in our stores. Depending on the brand, buying divisions may include Plus, Misses, Juniors, Accessories, Footwear and Intimate Apparel. Buying positions include buyers, assistant buyers, planners and allocation analysts.

Sourcing
Based in Hong Kong, our Sourcing operation employs nearly 190 associates in Merchandising, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Shipping, Finance, IT and Administration. These associates, along with our satellite offices in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Hangzhou, China and New Delhi, India, work closely with our Merchandising division to ensure the production and timely delivery of select merchandise for our stores.

Technical Design
Technical Design works with Merchandising and Sourcing to ensure the proper fit and style for each garment. Associates who work in this area typically have an understanding of fabrics, patterns, design elements and garment construction.

Planning
Planners are an integral part of each Merchandising team. Using their strong computer, analytical and communicative skills, planners develop and implement sales and inventory plans. Using sophisticated data warehouse technology, they analyze promotion, markdown and replenishment processes to maximize sales profits.

Allocation Analysis
Each Merchandising team includes an Allocation Analysis group. Associates working on merchandise allocation analyze sales data. The buying departments use this data to allocate merchandise to stores based on sales history, geography and store rank. This group ensures that we have the right quantity of product at the right location.

Product Development
A critical part of the Merchandising team, our Product Development staff must possess a keen fashion sense and the ability to create garment designs that reflect the look and feel of our target customers. Knowledge of fabric and garment design is essential. Product Development makes sure we have great looks and designs that can be constructed within the value pricing and garment quality that our customers demand.
